I took Vincent to the playground for the first time today. It might sound cheesy, but it was a neat thing to do for me. For years I have educated other parents, taught children, and nannied other people’s kids. This time it was my very own child. It was like an auto mechanic building his very own car and today was the day he put in the transmition (how’s that for an analogy honey? šŸ˜‰ Anyway, when we got there Vincent was asleep. He started to move around and usually I would just let him put himself back to sleep…but (confession time) I was so anxious to see how he liked the park that I just opened up his stroller and talked to him instead (bad Mommy). I took him to the slide (after letting him wake up a bit) and sat him down. He looked around and observed the area, then I held on to him and pushed him down. When he got to the bottom he just kinda looked at me, so I did it again a few more times. By the last time or two he was smiling. We “played” for a while on the slide and other areas of the toddlers playground. It was neat to do all the stuff that I had done with other children, I do wish that Brian was there to experience it with me though….we are about half way there (or so we hope). *sigh*
