Buy a travel trailer they say…it will be easy they say.

Well, maybe not entirely.  We purchased a brand spankin’ new trailer so it would be fairly low maintenance.  For a while anyway, it is a travel trailer after all.  I know one day there will be real issues.  So far the most time consuming thing has been preparing for our big trip.  Specifically how we will leave and arrive during said trip.  Just leaving from a camp site is a lot of work y’all.

Look at this check list:

Processed with VSCOcam with t1 preset

There are 4 pages of things that have to be taken care of before we even drive.

2 pages are for the outside equipment, 2 pages are inside preparations.  We did get smart, however.  The kids have their very own list of responsibilities.  I am in charge of preparing the inside activities (I guess that is what I will call them) while Brian is responsible for the outside.  Some of the outside responsibilities require my assistance (like checking the brake and hazard lights), but Brian is the lucky one who gets the rest of the outside activities.

I am going to brag a tiny bit (because in our whole 4 months of travel trailer ownership I have somehow earned the right to brag..cough cough), when we went on our maiden voyage last month it only took an hour to completely prepare for take off.  We only forgot one thing on our list.  Thankfully it was a minor thing.

I will quit patting our backs, I am confident, not stupid.  Something is bound to go wrong.  That will just add to our adventure…
