Celebrating Oktoberfest

Unfortunately we were unable to make it to any of the Oktoberfest celebrations in our area this year. Between visitors, sickness, and other activities we just didn’t make it.

We didn’t let that stop us from celebrating at home!

My helper, Kenniston, jumped right in to help me make Spaetzle, potato pancakes, sausage and cabbage, and baked apples served over ice cream. It was a huge feast that was enjoyed by all.

My little fashionista cracked eggs…

I have to make note of my iPad on the left side. My how technology changes our lifestyle! I often wonder if my own children will read their recipes off of a tablet computer, or if technology will once again change how we live…

our feast:

(homemade Spaetzle, which by the way takes a long time to make. I forget this every.single.time.I make it!!!)

(potato pancakes, sausage and cabbage)

After the feast the boys were jamming to some Beer Barrel Polka. German music in it’s finest 🙂
