I could post a daily thankful blog on friends every single day…multiple times a day. I am surrounded by the kindest, most generous, thoughtful friends a person could ask for. Aside from bringing meals, friends have offered to take our kids to gymnastics, or just take our kids for the day. They have called daily to see how I am doing. Others have sent texts, emails, etc.
Today a long time friend of mine, Tonya, and her kiddos came to see us. Tonya lives near Dallas, but her sister lives nearby, so when she is in town we try to see her and the kiddos. I have known her since the week before Vincent was born. She and her husband, Rick, were stationed at Fort Drum at the same time we were. They moved in above us the day Brian deployed to Iraq. Being from Texas, we hit it off quickly.
Tonya called me last month to let me know she would be in town visiting, so we planned a play date at that time. We obviously did not know that I would be stuck with my foot up during her trip. It didn’t matter, we chatted for hours while the kids played. She emailed Brian to ask what kind of Starbucks drink I liked and later surprised me with it! After a while we all went to see the newest Disney movie, Frozen.
It is hard to only see their family 2 or 3 times a year, but I am thankful that we get to see them when we do!
