He calls himself…

The crutches police.

I get in trouble when the kids find me not using my crutches. They like to keep me in line…and healthy. I think it worries them to see me in any kind of pain. When my dad passed away last summer I was in a lot of emotional pain. I remember how each of the kids made a special card for me almost daily over the weeks following his death. It had been a while since they had seen my dad, but they saw my hurt and wanted me to feel better. Night after night the kids prayed for me and for my dad in heaven.

After my little “accident” they saw my physical pain and again, wanted to fix it. As we drove to back home Ruby sat in the back seat praying for my hurt foot. To this day, they still pray for healing, and they still watch out for my hurt foot.

I love their care and concern. I pray that they continue to show empathy for others.
