Ice and Snow

We traveled all over the northeast and did not see much snow or ice.

We then came back to Texas and well….

It was cold when we woke up.  After days of working on the house, we decided today would be a good day to find some hot cocoa.  We thought it would be fun to go from coffee shop to coffee shop in search of the best cocoa in the area.  The Beanery is a locally owned franchise coffee shop with two locations around town.  We bought two cocoas at their mall location and let the kids share.

Next we decided to try out Hasting’s hot cocoa.  We ordered a hot mocha for Brian and I to share, and 2 hot cocoas for the kids to share.  The barista was kind enough to put theirs in separate cups, which the kids loved.

As we sat there enjoying our treats we looked up on the TV to see a winter weather advisory for our area.  Brian and I both check our phones to find we had snow and ice on the way.  We gathered the kids and our belongings and headed out, happy to be staying in the house for the night.

When we got you our van the we found the windshield was already covered in a thick layer of ice.

We were a little sad to end our hot cocoa hunt for the day, but glad to hunker down for the night and enjoy the cold weather.
