Mother’s Day 2011

Mother’s Day has been interesting the last few years. It has taken on a new meaning and the way in which I celebrate it has somewhat evolved over the years. I imagined getting a mani-pedi while sipping on a latte on the special day, however due to deployments and other circumstances I have yet to have one of “those” Mother’s Days. It’s ok with me.

This year my friend Nicole and I decided to make the most of our situations (neither of our husband’s were around to give us the ever-so-dreamed-of Mother’s Day get away). We decided to do a simple dinner and then let the kids wild in the backyard while she and I relaxed and chatted away.
It sorta happened. It was nice to spend time with a fellow mom, especially one that I have known for so long and have such a fabulous friendship with.
