It wasn’t sorting the kids’ clothes. Surprising, I know. Doesn’t every mom love going through their children’s clothes, figuring out what they will need for the next 6 months (several of which they will be traveling) and getting rid of the unnecessary clothes?
It wasn’t defrosting the 8 inches of frost that has accumulated in our freezer. Nope, I can’t say I loved gently scraping away ice.
Grocery shopping on a Saturday was not my favorite thing either. Don’t get me wrong, I am thankful for the means to shop, but I would have preferred to wait until Tuesday with the other half of the greater Fort Hood area. However, I was out of cold coffee and that my friends was an issue.
My favorite part of the day was when we gave each of the kids a walkie talkie and a flash light and let them lose on the property while Brian and I went for a walk. At 9pm. What kid doesn’t love the opportunity to share, over the airwaves, goofy fart noises or share a creature they saw running through the dark? As we strolled up and down the driveway of the 16 acres we saw flashlights bobbing the distance. Over the radio we heard giggles, discoveries, and like I mentioned, fart noises.
All in all, it was definitely my favorite part of the day.
