When we visited NYC one thing I took note of were the police officers.  To say they work hard is a gross understatement.  This city is constant chaos.  People are always on the move and despite it’s rhythm, it takes a focused force to serve and protect.  I have a lot of respect for that force.

During our visit, I took quite a few photos of said force.  Something about the NYPD caught my attention.  I had to capture them in action.  Now that we have been gone from the city for a few weeks I am finally going through the rest of those photos (yes, I am very behind).  I remembered this one very well.  I took our last night as we were heading back to the ferry. It had been sprinkling and cold that evening.  This officer stood out there directing traffic in that miserable weather.

As you have likely seen, recently 2 NYC police officers were killed execution style while on duty.  My heart aches for the police officers who were maliciously shot and killed.  For the men and women who serve and protect, my prayers are with you.  Today and every day.
