St Louis, downtime, yes, downtime

When we arrived at the Dr. Edmund Babler Memorial Park in the early afternoon, we had every intention on leaving the trailer then heading out to go see the sites in St Louis.

Then the kids started playing in the leaves.  Kenniston found wild mushrooms to dissect, Ruby started a collection of acorn tops that began an impromptu math lesson, Vincent began collecting a massive pile of leaves to jump in, and Jack started running around.

Brian sat.  I sat.  We decided to stay put.  Yes, you read that, I sat and stayed put.  It was glorious.  I enjoyed watching the kids enjoy themselves.  They enjoyed nature.  They had a blast.

  1. Beautiful pictures, although I doubt you “sat” to take them. Just kidding, I get it, you were willfully not running off to do something, but just enjoying the present. 🙂
